About Sagem Matsu
Company History

2010  Sagem Matsu celebrates it's 20th Birthday.
2009  Sagem Matsu moves to Guildford. The relocation means that our address and some of our contact number have changed; for more information please see the contacts page.
2008  Sagem Matsu's parent company (Sagem Monetel) joins with Ingenico. The new company consolidates it's position as world leader in the market for the supply of electronic payment terminals and associated services.
2007  Sagem Matsu is formed when Sagem Monetel purchases it's long term business partner in the UK - Matsu Ltd. Sagem Matsu joins the Safran Group of companies.
2006  Matsu releases the Sagem EFT930 range of terminals, expanding its product portfolio to suit every business need.
2004  Matsu builds on it's expertise to introduce the first mobile payment terminal to achieve both offline and online Visa PED accreditation, making it fully Chip & PIN compliant.
2003  Matsu releases the Sagem G920 payment terminal; one of the first mobile payment terminals to be released in the UK, enabling mobile traders can take online electronic payment without the need for a telephone line.
2001  Matsu developes a method by which gratuities can be entered at the time of sale, rather than being recalled later, leading to a more secure transaction processing method and erradicating the need for polling. This transaction processing method has subsequently been adopted by many terminal providers after the introduction of Chip & PIN in 2005.
1999  Matsu releases the Sagem R360 payment terminal. The terminal is fully portable and works by a radio link to the base station which is attached to the telephone line. With multiple handset associated to one base station rationalisation of telephone lines was possible leading to a reduction in merchant's overheads. The terminal's appeal is universal, in particular for restaurants where the concept of payment at table is first introduced.
1998  Matsu begins development on what will become it's core business - Electronic Payment Terminals. Working closely with it's business partner Sagem, Matsu sets out to bring innovative and technical solutions to the UK market.
1990  Matsu is formed. The new company begins by supplying consumables for fax machines, and later develops a respecable business supplying multi-function fax machines. The company is appointed the UK sole supplier for Sagem, a world leader in the supply of fax machines.
